Rupaul’s Childhood
Rupaul was born in 1970, making him 54 years old. He grew up in Miami, Florida with his mother and stepfather. Rupaul’s father left the family when he was young and later died from a drug overdose. Rupaul has spoken about his father’s death in several interviews, stating that it had a profound impact on his life.
Rupaul started performing at local clubs at the age of 15. He soon began to gain popularity on the gay scene and in 1992 he released his first album “Laugh Now Cry Later”.
